Pop Up Hungary roadshow attracted full house in Beijing

After the education fair on the weekend Hungarian delegation held talks with Beijing International Studies University on the 9th of May. The parties discussed opporturnities of possible future cooperations in the field of mobility, including scholarships and the exchange of guest lecturers and researchers.

The representatives of the university pointed out that Hungary is regarded as a key partner with the intitution operating a high-level Hungarian Department. The parties also expressed that the department could be a good basis for future projects such as curriculum development.

As a part of the roadshow Chinese-Hungarian Higher Education Forum took place at Hungarian Cultural Institute of Beijing attracting a full house. Over 80 people visited the forum not only from Beijing but from different parts of China, including representatives of higher education instituitions, students and parents as well. Participants listened to presentations about Hungary in general, the Hungarian higher education and universities, as well as mobility and scholarship opporturnities, with special regard to Stipendium Hungaricum Programme. The presenters also involved visitors in individual consultations after the lectures.

The Hungarian delegation also met Cecília Szilas, Ambassador of Hungary to China, to evaluate the experiences of the visit.

The roadshow of the delegation of Hungarian higher education takes place in Beijing and Shanghai from the 6-15th of May. The series of events is organized by Tempus Public Foundation, The Hungarian Cultural Institute of Beijing and Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai, supporting the appearance of 10 Hungarian higher education institutions, and the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference.
