CEEPUS FREEMOVER MOBILITY SCHOLARSHIPS TO HUNGARY IN THE WINTER SEMESTER OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2020/2021

Tempus Public Foundation / Hungarian National CEEPUS Office offers CEEPUS Freemover mobility scholarships for incoming university students and teachers from CEEPUS member countries in the winter semester (1 September 2020 – 31 January 2021) of the Academic Year 2020/2021.

Applications are accepted only from the CEEPUS member countries: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia.
Applicants with Hungarian citizenship or Hungarian place of residence cannot be considered.

Before concluding the scholarship agreement and starting the mobility, it is the scholarship holder’s responsibility to learn about Hungary’s all-time effective entry and pandemic regulations, the guidelines of the sending and the receiving institution, as well as to check the readiness of the receiving institution.

Available scholarships

Students:

  • Tendered period: 1 September 2020 – 31 January 2021
  • Whole semester or trimester at the host university (3-5 months)
  • Minimum duration of mobility period: full months (last month at least 16 days)
  • 118 000 HUF / month (approx. 340 EUR)
  • Obligation of attending lectures and seminars, obtaining credits
  • Learning Agreement is highly recommended
  • Available months: 40

Short term students:

  • Tendered period: any between 1 September 2020 – 31 January 2021
  • Students working on their thesis and PhD students
  • Minimum duration of mobility period:
    • 1 month: at least 21 days
    • 2 months: 1 whole month and at least 16 days
  • 118 000 HUF / month (approx. 340 EUR)
  • Full semester applications will be preferred, short term students may be accepted upon available months

Teachers:

  • Tendered period: any between 1 September 2020 – 31 January 2021
  • 1-month scholarships
  • Minimum duration of mobility period: 5 working days with 6 hours teaching / supervising activity
  • 130.000 HUF / month (approx. 370 EUR)
  • Detailed teaching plan is part of the application
  • Available months: 10

If a grant holder does not stay in the host country for the full length of the period specified in his/her award, he/she may be required to pay back the amount of the scholarship. Months cannot be split. Full mobility grant can only be issued for the period spent in Hungary. Virtual mobility period cannot be granted.

Application process

CEEPUS Freemovers need to find and contact the Hungarian host university themselves and obtain the Letter of Acceptance document from the host university.

We recommend to choose a host institution that already has CEEPUS activity in order to minimise administrative obstacles. A list of Hungarian institutions with CEEPUS activity can be found here.

The online application form must be submitted through the central CEEPUS website: www.ceepus.info.

Documents to attach to the online application form

Students:

  • CEEPUS Freemover Letter of Acceptance from the host institution
  • 2 CEEPUS Freemover Letters of Recommendation issued by lecturers of the home university

Teachers:

  • CEEPUS Freemover Teachers’ Letter from the host institution

All documents have to be signed and stamped. Only the offical CEEPUS forms are acceptable (downloadable after signing in to the central CEEPUS website: www.ceepus.info). Applications without the reqired official documents are not acceptable.

Application submission: continuously from 1 July 2020 to 30 November 2020.

Applications will be proceeded in case of formal eligibility and in the order of arrival.
There must be at least 45 days between the submission of an application and the start of the tendered period.
