To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Erasmus+ programme, Tempus Public Foundation asked exemplary participants to share their inspiring Erasmus+ stories.
2022 marks the 35th year of existence of Erasmus, the European Union's flagship programme for education, training, youth and sport. More than 10 million people have already been involved in the programme and have experienced the Erasmus+ adventure. The National Agency of the Erasmus+ Programme, Tempus Public Foundation has been celebrating the anniversary with a year-long campaign aiming to show everyone that Erasmus+ is more inclusive than ever, offering a wide-range of opportunities that can change lives forever.
As part of the campaign, Tempus was looking for participants of the programme to share their inspirational Erasmus+ journey with a wider audience. The professional jury chose 11 persons to be ‘Humans of Erasmus35’ (‘Erasmus35 arcai’) to represent all sectors of Erasmus+: a very diverse group with unique Erasmus+ stories.
Tempus has collaborated on several activities with the Humans of Erasmus35. At the annual Erasmus+ dissemination conference in June 2022, five of them shared their experiences during a panel discussion. One of the stages of the Campus summer music festival in Debrecen was named “Erasmus35” and a panel discussion was organized on the anniversary stage as well, where five mobility programme participants – including two representatives of the Humans of Erasmus35 – shared their tips with the audience.
On the 20th of September, two of the Humans of Erasmus35 were invited to Brussels to celebrate the 35 of years of the Erasmus+ programme with European Commissioner Mariya Gabriel, Vice-President Margaritis Schinas and 33 other Erasmus+ participants from all corners of Europe and beyond.
Tempus Public Foundation’s annual publication called ‘Pályázati Pavilon’ also featured the Humans of Erasmus35 and a video series was made to promote the programme with their personal stories. The videos can be found on YouTube, and they are being gradually shared on Tempus’ social media sites during October. On the dedicated page for the 35th anniversary, visitors can read more about the Foundation’s celebratory activities and the Humans of Erasmus35.
